Council Votes to Give Mayor the Boot using BlackBerry smartphones
As incredible as it sounds that’s exactly what happened. According to a story by news station Wavy-TV 10 (www.wavy.com) the Portsmouth, VA city council members, while listening to an apology from the Mayor, decided it wasn’t good enough and circulated a non-binding request, via their BlackBerry smartphones, for the Mayor to step down.
The Mayor, of course, responded with something along the lines of, if you want me out, then you will have to throw me out and that was that.
