Forty-Six Percent Prefer QWERTY Keyboard on Cell Phone

Just Say No1 300x213 Forty Six Percent Prefer QWERTY Keyboard on Cell PhoneThe recent 2009 Sprint Mobile Usage Survey found some interesting facts regarding cell phone users.  Some based on age were to be expected and some were a surprise.

For instance, 46% prefer cell phones with QWERTY keyboards.  The surprising thing about the statistic is that it’s for the the 18-34 year old age bracket.  What does that say for the future of the iPhone and touch screen phones in general?

On the predictable side of things, 80% of the same 18-34 year olds said their wireless phone was their lifeline to someone else, compared to only 57% for those age 55 and older.  Also along these lines was the question of what application you used most and not surprising 70% of the 18-34 year olds said texting.
