Israel Defense Force Considering BlackBerry
According to a story in the Jerusalem Post, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) is considering using the BlackBerry Smartphones for official communications. Of course the model the IDF chooses would be a super encrypted model similar to what President Obama uses and also would be constructed for military use, which means bulkier. The IDF already has it’s own secure network named “Mountain Rose” that their commanders use for communications.
It’s also reported that they would be enhancing their existing network to hand live video footage from such things as unmanned aerial reconnaissance aircraft and for battlefield video conferencing.
