Making Postcards using BlackBerry is easy with Shoot It!

shoot it blackberry app Making Postcards using BlackBerry is easy with Shoot It!

Have you ever taken a photo on your BlackBerry and thought, “Hey, that would make a great postcard!”.  Well you are in luck, because a new service called shoot it! (www.shootit.com) makes it a snap.  Just download the free app to your BlackBerry, take a picture, dress it up and send it on its way.

Launched in 2009, shoot it! is a new mobile messaging service that allows users to take a picture, create a personal message and send it off as a REAL postcard from anywhere to anyone in the world.

The company says they can send the postcard to anywhere in the world in days, not weeks.  How do they do it?  Apparently they have agreements with printing companies around the world and after you hit send on the app, the print order is delivered to the printer closest to the final destination.

Sure, you could just send the picture as an email attachment, but a postcard is something tangible you can hang on the refrigerator or post on a bulletin board.

Some of the key features of the shoot it! application are:

  • Simple user interface uses photos from your camera or from your photo library
  • Easy to add recipient addresses or choose them from your contacts list
  • Type a personal message right from the device keyboard
  • Fast production and delivery! Postcards print and mail the next business day
  • All cards print on high quality card stock

Currently shoot it! is only available for the BlackBerry Curve 8900, Bold 9000 and Tour 9630, but the company has plans to expand that to all smartphones soon.

Typically a new user gets one free shoot it! postcard, but use the MobiMadness promotional code (Mobi10) and get 10 free postcards!
