New Secret Weapon for Military is an iPod?
Now when our soldiers are pinned down and running low on ammunition, instead of calling in reinforcements, they can simply chuck their iPods at the enemy.
That’s right, as if Apple hasn’t gotten enough bad press lately, with the revelation that the iPhone’s encryption is “useless for business” (Read Story) or how about the winner where they pulled Google Voice off of the App Store (Read Story).
The latest word on the street is that last month when a UK father dropped his daughter’s iPod, it exploded. (Read Story)
Thankfully no one was hurt, but the kicker is that Apple refused to replace the portable incendiary device until the family signed a non-disclosure agreement, which they refused to do.
Of course I don’t know about you, but I think we should consider banning iPods from airplanes. Who needs to make shoe bombs when you can simply go to your local Apple store.
I especially like the disclaimer at the bottom of the article, “There is not yet proof that simply dropping any iPod Touch will result in a grenade-like reaction”. I couldn’t have said it better.
