We’ve all forgotten an important date in our lives, maybe a spouse birthday, your wedding anniversary, or the big presentation at work. Well it’s human and natural; we don’t have super memories that can keep track of every date and time. But when we forget these big events it causes more trouble in life. So how do we avoid forgetting? Write it on your calendar? Sure, if you check your calendar frequently that might work. But for those of us who never glance at it, there has to be a better way. How about using your BlackBerry!
The Big Event, Countdown to Important Dates, from Sigma3 International, is a life saving app now available on your BlackBerry. The app counts down to a big event in your life. What you do is start up the app and input up to three major upcoming events. Then the app counts down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to each event. So if you happen to be wondering how long you have to wait for a vacation, all you have to do is open the app and check it out.
Although I wouldn’t use this app to remember things like dentist appointments, business meetings, or other affairs like that. I would use it to count down to fun events like vacations, birthdays, and parties. Imagine you’re taking your kids to Disneyland for the first time, you can show them the countdown everyday to build the excitement!
The app runs of local time so you’ll always know specifically how long you have. It’s super easy to use and install. You can input any specific name you want via your BlackBerry keyboard. The interface isn’t exactly attractive and could’ve definitely used some work. I understand that it doesn’t have a specific theme or anything, but the developers could’ve at least thrown a picture and jazzed up the text a bit.
This app can be useful; it really depends on the person. The price is a little steep at $4.99, so it’s not a must have. However, if you have a very busy schedule you might want to look into this app for bringing some fun and organization to your BlackBerry.
