U2 Front Man Bono Puts Foot in Mouth and Endorses BlackBerry

According to a recent article in the NY Post, the U2 front man Bono appears to have broken the cardinal rule of thou shall not endorse a competitors product. It seems Bono is a co-founder of investment firm Elevation Partners, which recently dumped $435 million into Palm. Now this typically wouldn’t be an issue except that he is also the new pitchman (R.I.P. Billy Mays) for Research in Motion, the maker of the smartphone. Maybe if you are Bono, $435 million is pocket change and it’s not worth commenting on, but I’d bet the farm that there is some serious behind the scenes damage control sessions taking place. I for one, can’t wait to see the spin they throw at this mess.
